Hi all,
I've been to Gimli over the years and watched you all race and put on an exciting show. So this winter I've been trying to get ready to join the MWB. I was able to sell my 23T-Altered and 56 Chevy drag car and also my 20ft trailer this winter to hopefully fund a faster operation. I bought this 57 Chevy roller out of South Carolina this Feb and will be installing a BBC and glide to try and make it to the 8.50 cut off point. I also bought a 2005 duramax crew cab and new 34' v-nose trailer for the long haul. This spring was pretty slow going but lately I've picked up the pace. I got the chassis certified for a 6.0 and its getting painted today. It might still be awhile before it all comes together but the work is in process.
Here are some pics!
Sold this 23T-altered,was only a 7.50 chassis

It ran 8.13 at Gimli with a alcohol injected 434 sbc

Sold the altered,20' trailer, and 94 Chevy extended cab (gas)

Sold this 56 Chevy, was only certified to a 8.50 but was alot of fun and ran 9.50

New V-Nose 34' trailer

57 Chevy roller I bought from Pageland South Carolina

just checking out the chassis in my driveway...also 2005 Duramax diesel in the back ground

getting it painted today!

Very nice! I always liked the '57 with the big fin. It looks like a well done chassis. Will it be an all-motor car? nitrous? blower?

Hey Dave,I have a 555 to install. I really don't want to install NOS but I'll see how she performs. I would rather it be an all motor car.

Thanks! But I don't know about the beast thing,I just hope it runs good! A new set up usually has some kind of gremlins. This is a 555 Reher-Morrison Super Series engine but with a cheepo e-bay 1150 carb so its about 30hp shy if its potential and also no vac pump. Time will tell how it turns out,but tuning is the fun part of!!
I phone today about the paint job but it won't be ready till tomorrow. So I can't hardly wait to see it! Then I have to get the side chrome wrapped on it. Still lots of work to be done. Wish the summer was 12 months long, lol!
I race up here at SIR Saskatoon,SK they are a NHRA track. Just wondering if MWB would go there?

Just an update.
Car is painted but still have the grill and side chrome on put on. Engine and trans installed and did some test passes with poor results. For some reason the trans brake didn't work and my fuel pressure regulator wasn't holding(over 15lbs to the carb)yikes. The car ran a 1.94 60ft. 6.70et & 122mph in the 1/8th mile....some work to be done yet.
I was really hoping to get to Gimli July 31st but doesn't look like it.....but time will tell.

Making progress! :-) I know how it goes, always time consuming getting everything working together.
